After a devastating robot apocalypse, the surviving human population struggles to carry on in the rubble of their former lives. One all-powerful robot, Seek, rules over the remaining humans, allowing them to live in order to study them.
Karen Senki is just one powerless survivor among the throngs, piecing together her life under robot oppression -- until fate sends a bullet into her and she is left to die in the streets. But a band of rebels known as The Eleven saves Karen, wipes her memory, and empowers her with super-human speed and fighting skills. Now a confused Karen is told that she is the last great hope to save humanity from final extermination by the robots.
As Karen's skills grow, she discovers that her past -- and her destiny -- are inextricably linked to the evil ruler, Seek.
Karen survived the robot apocalypse after losing her entire family on the first day of the war. Years later, she is saved from the edge of death by a mysterious shaman, who empowers Karen with incredible speed and fighting skills. His magic saved her, but also took her memory. Now Karen is told that she is the last great hope for saving humanity against the machines — but will she become the heroine everyone says she is?
Karen’s kid sister, Touka, was killed on the first day of the robot apocalypse — and Karen was unable to help her. The trauma and guilt from that day is Karen’s deepest wound, but Touka’s spirit is also Karen’s greatest source of strength.
Seek was the first robot to achieve self-awareness and became the catalyst for the robot apocalypse. As Supreme Commander of the robot forces, Seek exterminated the humans without pity until only a tiny enclave of survivors remained. Now, he allows humans to live amongst the robots in order to study them. Though the all-powerful Seek rules with an iron fist, he still possesses a seed of memory from his days as a humble utility bot — a seed that involves Karen and Touka, and could be the key to humanity’s survival.
Xiao-Gang was appointed by the robots to serve as mayor of East City — he negotiates for the humans, while remaining powerless against the might of the machine overlords. Most humans consider Xiao-Gang to be a traitor, but he’s actually the brains behind The Eleven and a brave fighter for the human cause. Xiao-Gang is the brother of Jack.
While most humans barely eke out a living under robot rule, the opportunistic Jack plays both sides by buying parts of robots destroyed by Karen, then selling the parts on the robot black market. His sleazy persona is partially a cover for his secret membership in The Eleven. Jack’s gregarious personality clashes with reserved brother, Xiao-Gang.
The elegant and beautiful Eleanor works as an entertainer in a sleazy robot nightclub, but the job is actually a cover for her secret membership in the rebel group The Eleven. Eleanor’s delicate feminine appearance belies her true identity as one of The Eleven’s heaviest hitters.
X22 was a general in the robot army during the robot apocalypse, massacring humans by the thousands. But he has fallen in love with the beautiful Eleanor, and switched sides to join The Eleven. X22 must now wage war against his own machine race, while facing the suspicion of his human teammates.
Jay was created by Seek to be his son and protege. But Jay has grown rebellious, ambitious, and obsessed with exterminating the humans. Jay’s thirst for power sets him on a collision course with his father — and total human destruction is only a stepping stone on the way.
Mad Box Zombies are mischievous, miniature animal zombies whose daily antics always end up with somebody getting killed. For a Mad Box Zombie, the best way to die is to die laughing. They live in the kitchen of a haunted manor. At night, they leave their matchbox beds in search of bloody, mindless mayhem. The gang includes Lisfer, a zombie squirrel and self-proclaimed leader of the animal dead. Buffa, a slow but friendly buffalo zombie, is the strongest of the bunch. Mince, the curious piggy zombie, always sticks her snout where it doesn’t belong. Sweet smelling flowers are this stinky zombie’s favorite, but her poisonous bad breath can kill.
